Ko'olau & the 4 'K' Hawaiian Ukulele Makers

Hawaiian made ukuleles are the most sort after ukuleles in the world, not just because of prestige, or koa being endemic to Hawaii, but primarily because of the unique multi-generational luthier 'families' that handcraft ukuleles in Hawaii. Of these 'families', the Kitakis family of Ko'olau are best of the four 'K's' for custom ukuleles (Kamaka, Kanile'a, KoAloha and Ko'olau). Although any of these Hawaiian ukulele brands are absolutely fantastic, Ko'olau's attention to detail is second to none, and their craftsmanship unbeatable. Each ukulele is handcrafted by John Kitakis' stepson, Noa Bonk at Ko'olau's workshop in Wahiawa, Oahu.

Unsure about purchasing a ukulele online?

Buying a high-end premium ukulele/professional ukulele online can be a daunting task, that is why at Quality Ukes we make customer service our number one priority. For each of my customers, I send photos and video footage recorded with a professional microphone, prior to purchase. Also happy to set up a video call to personally demonstrate the ukulele upon request. I am also more than happy to price match to get you the lowest price possible. Don't hesitate to ask any questions!

Finally, take a peep below at Ko'olau's workshop & an interview with Noa Bonk.
