The Pono mango MGT has been a popular choice in store and online for many years. This has the same all solid mango wood body, mahogany neck with an adjustable truss rod, and Grover tuning keys with a bit less adornment for the best value possible in a high quality tenor.
Pono is a more affordable version with the same specs and build as Ko'olau. They really stand out in the ukulele market for their quality and value. Mango wood gives a sweet tone just like the fruit it produces. It has warmth and clarity similar to the best characteristics found in both mahogany and koa.

This ukulele comes with the Ko'olau Alohi nylon strings. We also love it with the Ko'olau Aho fluorocarbon strings for more brightness and sustain. You can upgrade to those in the options above.
A key feature, in all of the Pono tenors and baritones, is the dual-action adjustable truss rod. The truss rod stabilizes and adjusts the lengthwise forward curvature, also called relief, of the neck. It can be easily adjusted from inside the soundhole using the included allen wrench. Over time and with humidity changes this is a very useful option to have.
